Successful action by Moray Council workers

From Moray UNISON. Unison members across Moray went out on strike as part of the nationwide campaign for a fair pay offer. With a pay offer now half that of inflation, workers cannot afford to accept another pay cut. Pickets were organised around a number of key council services, including the council headquarters and schools. A number of workers were successfully turned back at picket lines with many more staying away from work. Five schools were completely closed as a result of strike action, with others severely distrupted by catering and other support staff staying at home.

A big thank you to everyone who went out on strike today - especially those able to attend picket lines. Your support for this campaign is greatly appreciated.
